Mold Design & DFM
  1. Material Selection: Choose an appropriate material which suits both the product's function and the manufacturing process.
  2. Draft Angles: Ensure parts have proper draft angles to allow for easy ejection from the mold without damage.
  3. Wall Thickness: Design consistent wall thicknesses to prevent defects like warping, shrinkage, or sink marks during the cooling process.
  4. Undercuts and Complex Geometries: Minimize or eliminate features which require more complex or costly mold mechanisms.
  5. Parting Line and Ejector Pin Placement: Strategically position the parting line and ejector pins to maintain functional quality.
  6. Gate Location: Ensure gates are positioned to promote even filling.
